The Water for Warrill Irrigation Project aims to deliver reliable, secure irrigation to agricultural producers in Scenic Rim.
This will enable irrigators to consolidate existing production and expand their operations, boosting value-added processing in the region and the local economy.
The Queensland Government has awarded Water for Warrill $3.4 million to develop a detailed business case, including construction-ready designs for new water storage for the community.

Low impact, large benefits
State 2 of Water for Warrill confirmed modest water planning reforms and targeted infrastructure investment can unlock significant economic growth across the Warrill Valley, without impacting existing users and environmental flows.
The Stage 2 assessment identified a pathway to:
- unlocking up to $30 million in private investment in new on-farm water infrastructure
- delivering a new 12,000ML off-stream storage, and
- resulting in a 15-20% increase in the reliability of water available to irrigators.
At the farm scale, Stage 2 assessment estimated:

- Around $250,000 per year in additional income per farm
- Long-term enterprise values can increase by $3 million or more.
